Lonesome Rock is an unmarked location in Horizon Zero Dawn, located slightly northeast of Cut-Cliffs, across the river.
Description[]
Lonesome Rock is a Carja guard outpost located nearby the Way of Broken Stones. Being built into the nearby cliff wall, the outpost is constructed mostly from sandstone, along with wood.
History[]
Lonesome Rock was used by Zaid's slaving operation as a waystation for transporting slaves: the outpost controlled access to the ring's base of operations, and the garrison consisted of Zaid's men.
In her search for Nakoa, Aloy was directed by Zaid to Lonesome Rock, allegedly to investigate reports of a bandit abduction. In truth, it was a veiled attempt to have the Nora captured and enslaved. Aloy killed the garrison when they attacked her, and followed a set of cart tracks to Zaid's compound.
Following Zaid's death, Lonesome Rock was abandoned, likely due to the investigation into his operation.
