- "This Kestrel armor will make for a good disguise, and steels its wearer against blinding and sonic effects. Highly customizable."
- ―Inventory description
This outfit can be obtained in Light, Medium, or Heavy varieties, with an increasing number of mod slots and immunities. In New Game+, the Heavy variant of this outfit is no longer sold by merchants, and is replaced by an Adept version with an additional modification slot.
Aloy automatically obtains this outfit at the end of the main quest The Terror of the Sun. After escaping Helis, Sylens knows that Aloy will be in danger if she needs to return to Shadow Carja territory. He provides her this outfit as a disguise.
- As the Carja culture is patriarchal with women, leaving them usually unable to or have difficulty with rising in political or military ranks even after Avad's reformation, it is unknown why the outfit could work as a disguise for Aloy at the politically conservative Sunfall, especially since it does not conceal her signature red hair.
