I thought of a detail in one of Travis's sound files that I can't find anyone else discussing on the web. As a systems developer and a huge death metal fan, this theory came naturally to me.

In the datapoint "Noise Complaints", it's made clear that Travis is a huge death metal fan. It's also at several points in the story hinted to that Hades has a "frightful, terrorizing voice" (those are not the exact words, I can't remember them).

Isn't it likely – and an awesome detail – that Travis naturally coded Hades to have a Death Metal-sounding voice, simply for hos own amusement? Because it certainly sounds like it, and I can't see any other reason why an A.I. would have such an evil-sounding voice to begin with. It actually explains it in a delightfully believable way.

I don't think he did it for any other reason than he thought it would be cool – an easter egg if you will. And I can tell you from my work experience that developers do stuff like that constantly. Travis' personality certainly makes him seem very capable of it.
